Paul Weimer and Clare McDonald-Sims, the DUFF administrators, have announced that this year’s Down Under Fan Fund (DUFF) race is now open for voting. The winner (may) travel to Worldcon 76 in San Jose, CA from August 19-20. For the third year in a row, The race only has one nominee, however voting remains important as a means of raising the necessary funds to keep DUFF a continuing concern. Votes will be accepted until March 31, 2017.

The Down Under Fan Fund (DUFF) is looking for candidates for this year’s race to travel from Australia/New Zealand to the United States to attend Worldcon 76 in San Jose from August 16-20, 2018. Candidates should contact either Paul Weimer or Clare McDonald-Sims and have two North American nominators and three Australia/New Zealand nominators. Each candidate should also have a 100 word statement and be able to put up a $25 bond. The deadline for declaring candidacies is January 31. Weimer Wins DUFF

Paul Weimer won DUFF (the Down Under Fan Fund) in an unopposed race. Hhe will travel to Australia to attend Lexicon, the 38th New Zealand National Science Fiction Convention, to be held in Taupō from June 2-4 and Continuum, the 56th Australian National Science Fiction Convention, to be held in Melbourne, Australia from June 9-12. 40 ballots were cast with 37 giving Weimer a first place vote. 21 ballots came from North American and 19 from Australasia. Voting fees and donations came to A$203.53 and US$207.44. This is the second year in a row DUFF has been uncontested.

The DUFF administrators have announced that this year’s Down Under Fan Fund (DUFF) race is now open for voting. The winner will travel to Continuum 13 in Melbourne from June 9-12. For the second year in a row, The race only has one nominee, however voting remains important as a means of raising the necessary funds to keep DUFF a continuing concern. Votes will be accepted until March 10, 2017.

McDonald-Sims Wins DUFF

Clare McDonald-Sims won DUFF (the Down Under Fan Fund) in an unopposed race. This was McDonald-Sims second DUFF race. She will travel to North America to attend MidAmeriCon II in Kansas City, this year’s Worldcon. Voting totals have not yet been released.

Northbound DUFF Race Postponed

The administrators of the Down Under Fan Fund (DUFF) have announced that no northbound race would be held this year. Julian Warner and Justin Ackroyd took over the administrator duties from Bill Wright Juanita Coulson in April at Wright’s request. They need a period of time to replenish funds and to allow for a well-organised campaign for next year. In addition, Lucy Huntzinger has offer to take over the administration of North American funds.

Coulson Wins DUFF

Juanita Coulson won DUFF (the Down Under Fan Fund) over Aurora Celeste. Wright received 42 votes to Celeste’s 24. Wright will travel to Australia for Continuum X, the 53rd Australia national convention, to be held on June 6-9. Coulson previously planned to run for DUFF in 2012, but that year, voters elected to Hold Over Funds.
