Hank Reinhardt Award

This year’s Hank Reinhardt Award was presented to Jennifer Liang. The Reinhardt Award is given out each year to a Georgian author, artist, or fan who has made outstanding contributions to the genre. Liang is the chair of JordanCon and serves at the Director of the High Fantasy Track at Dragon Con. She has also served as President of the Southern Fandom Confederation. The Award has been presented since 1990, when it was called the Georgia Fandom Award and given to Hank Reinhardt. The name was changed in 2009 to further honor Reinhardt, who died in 2007.

Georgian SF Club Creates Magazine

A relatively new science fiction club in Tbilisi, Georgia has published the first issue of his club magazine, Fantasti, with a focus on Ray Bradbury. The issue includes 8 stories, including 6 which are published in Georgian for the first time. The club has about 500 members and its second issue will focus on H.P. Lovecraft.

DeepSouthCon 2016 Moves

DeepSouthCon has announced that it will be held the weekend of May 13-15, 2016 at the Doubletree Hotel in Roswell, GA, previously the site of the 2013 DeepSouthCon. Originally, the convention was scheduled to be held in Atlanta. DeepSouthCon will announce the slate of guests once they have all been finalized.
