Edward Redefines Role

Malcolm Edwards, who has been serving as Deputy CEO and Publisher at Orion, will step down from that position at the end of the year. Edwards will instead serve as Chairman of the Gollancz science fiction and fantasy line, which is an imprint of Orion, as well as serve as a Consulting Publisher for Orion. The move will allow Edwards to focus on fewer projects that are more important to him. Edwards joined Gollancz in the 1970s

Science Fiction Encyclopedia 3 Goes Live

The beta text of the third edition of the Science Fiction Encyclopedia, edited by John Clute and David Langford has gone live. The editors note that additional entries will continue to be added and the current version is not final. The on-line version is sponsored by Gollancz.

Gollancz, a science fiction imprint of Orion Publishing, is looking to fill an editorial position in London. The editor will be working with the Deputy Publishing Director, authors, agents, and various members of the production and marketing teams.

Jo Fletcher Books

Quercus Publishing has announced a new imprint: Jo Fletcher Books. Fletcher has been working as an editor for Gollancz for fifteen years and has decided to move to Quercus to launch her imprint, beginning in January 2011.
