OdysseyCon is sponsoring the Sixth Annual OddContest. The contest is open to submissions of 500 words or less, either speculative fiction or prose poetry. Prizes will be awarded for youth and adult. Entrants under 18 may submit a single work for consideration at no charge with a $50 prize for first place. Adults may submit as many pieces as they like with a $10 submission fee per work and a a $500 prize for first place. Prizes also include memberships in OdysseyCon and books. OdysseyCon takes place in Madison, WI the weekend of April 12-14.
OdysseyCon has announced the fifth annual OddContest, looking for 500 words or less of speculative prose poetry or flash fiction. Stories are due by January 15, 2012. There is a $10 entry fee for adults older than 18. Youths younger than 18 on January 1, 2012 may submit one story without the entry fee. The 2012 final judge will be Terry Garey. Winning poems/stories will be read at OddCon, published in the program, and posted on the OdysseyCon site and the top three finishers will receive a collection of books.
Odyssey Con is sponsoring its fourth annual poetry/flash fiction contest. The contest has two categories: adult and youth. The adult category has a $10 entry fee and a prize of $500 to first place and an OddCon membership and books to top three finalists. The youth category has no entry fee a prize of $50 to first place and an OddCon membership and books to top three finalists. Entries should be 500 words or less of speculative (SF&F) fiction or prose poetry (paragraph form). This year’s contest is being judged by Marion Boyer. The deadline is January 15.
