The New England School Of Art & Design has announced the creation of a scholarship fund in the name of Bhob Stewart. Stewart, who published one of the earliest comic fanzines and in 1969 curated the first exhibition of comic book art at a major museum, taught at the school from 1970-1984.
Spectrum Fantastic Art has announced that will be offering a scholarship to send an artist to the Illustration Master Class at Amherst College in Massachusetts from June 9th-15th. Organized by Rebecca Guay, the week includes faculty including Boris Vallejo, Julie Bell, Donato Giancola, Dan Dos Santos, Irene Gallo,
James Gurney, and Brom.
The Carl Brandon Society is sponsoring the Octavia E. Butler Memorial Scholarship Fund eReader Drawing. Tickets for the drawing are available for $1 each and will be entered into a drawing for one of five e-readers. each e-reader will come loaded with books, short stories and essays by writers of color from the speculative fiction field including Saladin Ahmed, Ted Chiang, J.K. Jemisin, Nisi Shawl, and more. Two Nooks, 2 Kobe Readers, and 1 Alex eReader will be awarded.
