Amazing Stories Kickstarter

Amazing Stories is midway through its Kickstarter campaign to bring the magazine back o a print formay. The first issue of the magazine is mostly set and they plan to open the magazine to submissions in April. Managing Editor Ira Nayman has noted that he will be looking for optimistic science fiction as well as works from marginalized voices.

Amazing to Hold Kickstarter

Steve Davidson has announced that Amazing Stories will launch a Kickstarter on March 1 to raise funds to relaunch Amazing as a print fiction magazine with the first issue to be released at Worldcon 76 in San Jose.

Amazing Stories Returns to Print

Steve Davidson has announced that later this year Amazing Stories will return to a print format. The initial issue will feature the winners of the short story contest run last year as well as non-fiction articles. Davidson expect regular publication of the magazine to begin in 2017.

Amazing Blog Goes Live

Steve Davidson has announced that the blog for Amazing Stories went live on January 21. The blog has gone live with a handful of articles written by just a few of the more than 50 authors Davidson has brought on-board, including posts by Monique Jacob, Keith West, and John M Whalen. Future posts will include works by Mike Brotherton, Michael A. Burstein, Paul Cook, Jane Frank, Barry Malzberg, Felicity Savage, Steven H Silver, Leah Zeldes, and many more.

Rebirth of Amazing

Amazing Stories, the magazine that started science fiction in 1926, has been declared dead numerous times in its history, most recently in March of 2006. However, in September 2011, Steve Davidson purchased the rights to the name and is announcing that he will be launching the “Relaunch Prelaunch” with Volume 0, Issue 1 on July 1, 2012. his plan is to ramp up the magazine with fiction and non-fiction until it achieves the dimensions he hopes for it.

Amazing Editorial Board

Steve Davidson, who was recently awarded the lapses Amazing Stories trademark, has announced the formation of an advisory board which consists of four former editors of the magazine: Barry Malzberg, Patrick L. Price, Ted White, and Joseph Wrzos. Davidson has also commissioned a cover for the first electronic issue, from artist Frank Wu.
