Ratings are based on a four star system.
One star means that the commercials are more entertaining than the program.
Two stars watch if you have nothing better to do.
Three stars is good solid entertainment.
Four stars means you never dreamed television could be this good.

Doctor Who The best tv I've watched in recent months, aside from my on-going one-episode-a-night rewatching of Babylon 5, is the Doctor Who Christmas Special, "The Snowmen". My vote: not as good as previous Christmas Specials. For one thing, I'm getting tired of the repeated use of the two-word phrase "Doctor who?" Once was great. More than once in every season runs the idea into the ground. Also, in this episode, the Doctor is uncommonly stupid, so much so that viewer will want to yell at him, "Look out, you idiot!" It will probably be nominated for the Best Drama, Short Form, Hugo Award, but will almost certainly lose to "Asylum of the Daleks", to which it is a sequel.

The only other tv in December that provided memorable entertainment was Last Resort, but I can't really recommend it. It had excellent acting and good scripts, but is totally unbelievable. In any case, it's been cancelled.

In addition to the end of Last Resort, the last Fringe episode airs this month.
